Pokemon Elite Redux v2.65 releases as a public beta, includes new tilesets, areas, and more than 60 new Pokemon

Pokemon Elite Redux, an Emerald decompilation hack with a focus on competitive battling, has today received its latest update almost a year after v2.5. This update has been teased for some time now, with information being drip-fed to the community by the development team and a number of YouTubers. Those picking up the hack can expect to find an entirely new difficulty option available to them in Hell Mode, enabling a further level of smart AI on top of illegal movesets and abilities for a genuinely unfair experience. This is mildly balanced by the fact you're able to view your opponent's team during a battle, but should really only be attempted by people who have already had some experience with the previous hardest difficulty, Elite.

Looking past the additional difficulty setting, the game has had a fresh coat of paint, with new tilesets featured throughout. You've also got new areas to explore, more than 60 new Pokemon to encounter, a heap of new Mega Evolutions, and even new settings to speed up the game without having to rely on an emulator. With no complete public changelog at the time of writing the list of changes is something of an unknown, but those interested in the new update can find it on the Elite Redux Discord server. The Elite Redux Patcher is yet to be updated for those not eager to jump onto the server.

Never been a fan of hacks that add new pokemon, types or megas to games and regions that weren't designed around those.
Just give me a full Hoenn dex, toggle run button, events and call it a day.
I would usually agree, but Elite Redux has historically been the exception for me. They typically stick to new forms and evolutions to existing Pokemon that still feel true the the original intent, as opposed to being completely original. Things like Grass/Poison Mawile and Mega Mawile:

Still not for everybody, but I think they generally do a pretty good job.

No doubt, despite these kind of hacks not being my cup of tea I can't deny the amount of work that goes into these.

Does this have a normal mode? Because while I like these hacks and can't fathom the work that goes into them... Man, I CANNOT play a game that is hard. Call me whatever you want, I play games to relax, not pull my hair out. I got enough stress in my life lol

It does have an easy difficulty yeah. I’d say give it a shot and if you still don’t gel with it, no harm done,

Debug mode would be funny

I normally wouldnt say anything but all the negativity comming from @SDA ..... It slowly gets annoying. No one cares..... Yes each to their own and not everyone likes same things... But in the same time no one needs to know what someone else likes or not.... Better keep some things for yourself

this sounds interesting ... but no more screenshots to see if it attracts me? lolol
Sorry, it's just come out and I've not had a chance to play it myself to get screenshots (which is why the only screenshot I did grab was at the starter bag lol).
