Basic Description
This is an English fan translation for the Japanese version of YO-KAI WATCH 4++ and its DLC.It is highly unlikely any terms will be changed to something else, and things changing are up to the mod team's discretion.
This mod works on both the PS4 and Switch versions of the game.

Passwords
Passwords have now been translated!...Well, sort of.
Due to how the password file works, it's impossible to translate any passwords not publicly released. There are a ton of passwords not released, so I instead chose to reuse passwords from previous YO-KAI WATCH games. You can find a list of passwords in one of the files posted below.
Using the passwords list, enter them in the Lambert Post App.
Compatibility
This mod works on both Nintendo Switch hardware and emulator. Elements like the custom name and icon will not work on emulator.The PS4 version does not have a custom name, and works on hardware. I could not even get the unmodded game to run on emulator, but if you do, it might work on a PS4 emulator as well.

Ryujinx Installation Instructions
- Set up Ryujinx and YO-KAI WATCH 4. I will not assist you in getting the original game, so don't ask.
- Download the file linked in the mod page. It should open to 2 folders titled 'YKW4app-NoFullwidth-By-RSM' and 'Yo-kai Watch 4++ English Translation.'
- Right click on Yo-kai Watch 4++, and click 'Open Atmosphere Mods Directory.'
- Drag the 'YKW4pp-NoFullwidth-By-RSM' and 'Yo-kai Watch 4++ English Translation' folders in the zip into the current directory. (Drag them into the empty space, not over a folder.)
Switch Installation Instructions
- Download the file linked in the mod page. It should open to 2 folders titled 'YKW4app-NoFullwidth-By-RSM' and 'Yo-kai Watch 4++ English Translation.'
- Locate the 'atmosphere/contents/010086C00AF7C000' directory on your hardware.
- Open the 'YKW4app-NoFullwidth-By-RSM' folder in the zip. You should now see a folder titled 'exefs.'
- Drag the 'exefs' folder in the zip into the current drectory. (Drag them into the empty space, not over a folder.)
- Go backwards in the zip. You should see both the 'YKW4app-NoFullwidth-By-RSM' and 'Yo-kai Watch 4++ English Translation' folders.
- Open the 'Yo-kai Watch 4++ English Translation' folder in the zip. You should now see a folder titled 'romfs.'
- Drag the 'romfs' folder in the zip into the current directory. (Drag them into the empty space, not over a folder.)
PS4 Installation Instructions
- Download the file with "YW4 EN Translation PS4" in the name. Since this utilizes the AFR plugin for GoldHEN, it's automatically included with the zip. However, if you already have a plugins.ini for it, instead of copying the one from the mod over, add these two lines to your own plugins.ini file:

/data/GoldHEN/plugins/afr.prx\ - Extract the files to your PC and copy them to a USB drive if you are using PS4Xplorer or connect to your PS4 with FTP. (As noted previously, if you already have a plugins.ini for AFR, follow the above step instead of replacing it!)
- Copy the "data" and "user" folders to the root of your PS4 directory.
- Make sure patches are enabled in your GoldHEN settings.

"The translation isn't working!"
Make sure your game is updated to v2.2.0 and that your folder directory is set up correctly with the translation."Where can I get the game/update/DLC?"
Either buy or locate the game/update/DLC on your own. I won't support you in pirating it.Character Names
Most returning characters retain their names from the localized versions of the games. The exception to this is Faux Kappa, who is now known as Kappa, due to Kappa from YO-KAI WATCH The Movie: Forever Friends sharing the same name slot.Additionally, names used for new characters are typically ones used in the official Animax sub or other official media. Not all localized names were applied due to the mod team believing that it did not faithfully translate the name over and that the original name was better. As said earlier, terms are unlikely to change by now, and it is up to the mod team's discretion.
Busters++
Localizations of past games referred to this type of mode as Blasters, yet it is known as Busters in this translation. This is because Busters is the properly translated name, and doesn't censor anything. If you want to argue that it barely changes anything with it being known as Blasters, then the reverse is also true that it being Busters shouldn't matter that much either.Yo-ki
Something that may confuse new people is the term Yo-ki. It is used many times over the course of YO-KAI WATCH 4, and is vital to understanding how some moves work and even the story. However, Yo-ki is not new to YO-KAI WATCH 4. The localization has either poorly renamed it or outright removed it. So, here I will give a short refresher on what it actually is for people who are unaware.Yo-ki is not a misspelling of Yo-kai, but is actually the source of a Yo-kai's energy. This is also what other Yo-kai or the Yo-kai Watch can pick up on. They don't feel an aura, they sense another Yo-kai's Yo-ki. In past games, it is also not the Soul Meter, but the Yo-ki Gauge. Since it is a different term in YO-KAI WATCH 4, I opted not to use Yo-ki Gauge, but that still remains a fact. Similarly to how Auras are actually Yo-ki, Treasure Auras in YO-KAI WATCH 3's Busters T are similar. You exchange not Ghastly Fragments, but Yo-ki Fragments, for Treasure Yo-ki that can subsequently get you into Yo-ki Dungeons, not Aura Dungeons.
