Why not just axe the Xbox brand already?

Linux is the way. I've switched and now I don't want to go back.

I would but I'd just end up using a Virtual Windows like Wine anyway, because some emulators don't work on Linux and I use a lot of them. I like Windows 10 well enough and plan to stay on it as long as possible.

Would still be better than having to deal with windows. I'm so tired of windows.

xbox and microsoft have already said they are making the next console and that it's going to basically be an "xbox pc"
Oy, have they? I'm so busy studying that, if I don't see the news here, I may miss it entirely. Did they confirm if this new console will be digital only? I cannot see them bothering with physical publishing outside of their third party offerings.

all i know is they said that there will be a next gen xbox and that it'll basically be an "xbox pc" because it'll have windows built into it with their stupid copilot ai

I had a chance to do a quick search, and I didn't even find confirmation of the console's architecture. Still, I'd expect Microsoft to choose an "PC in a box" route for ease of manufacturing and porting.

I've said this a bunch of times, but I do think a Steam-esque digital only experience is in the pipeline. As a company, you never want to lose shelf space, so Xbox games being removed from retail outlets supports the argument.

Next gen is going to be a scene.

Because its a recognised brand. When they completely give up on hardware and become a publisher (like Sega did) they'll probably just go with something like Xbox Studios.

have you tried using emulators on Linux though?
I like windows 10 as well and will keep it installed on my machine for applications that won't run on Linux but in my opinion it's over for Windows, it's time to move on

Unless the bubble pops. Then we'll be free of all that stupid AI shoved everywhere.

Probably Windows 12 it's only a year or two away they never quit trying to force a new OS on us I'm still on 10.
12? 11 sucks so bad.

The only thing of Xbox I currently have is a One X and admittedly it's a really good console.

It's like when Sega went third party, Xbox is following the same route.

OG Xbox was a very promising console, Xbox 360 was superb (aside the RRoD issue), Xbox One... They killed it at launch, but I've got to say One X is an excellent console.

Xbox should just merge with PlayStation and be done with hardware consoles, they're pretty much the same thing.

Microsoft won't kill off a product until it's gotten every drip of profit out of it. There are people out there willing to pay their higher prices, so they are going to keep milking them until they stop making money out of them. That has always been the M$ way

Just go back to the old name. Microsoft Game Studios.
There's also the Xbox GamePass and that admittedly is vastly superior than PS/Nintendo service. M$ isn't going to kill it off and there's still the current and last gen consoles/controllers.

Not sure what's the obsession with seeing Xbox gone.

>isn't going to kill it off

Well, they kinda already did that with the 50% price hike.

I think they regret doing the ultimate tier with the day one games. The other tiers are still decent value for what they offer, very similar to PS+. I think the price hike is to try and drive people away from Ultimate.
