Tinfoil stuck at loading sdmc:/switch/tinfoil/db/titles.us.en.json

Hey Guys

Did Switch Lite and a regular switch for a buddy, The lite loads Tinfoil all the way no issues but the V1 gets stuck at loading sdmc:/switch/tinfoil/db/titles.us.en.json. I tried different sd vards ones I know work as they work in my switch. I'm running the latest firmware, have the latest Tinfoil and this is the only switch i have seen with this issue, I loads to different point on boot up but then freezes and locks up the console. I tested the sd card in my switch with the same exact tinfoil and it loads. I'm stumped

im having the same problem with it getting stuck did you ever solve your problem if so how so i can fix mine thanks

Could be that the file on the sdcard is either corrupted, or blank? I've had this a few times. If its blank, it could be that your ISP is blocking the .io domain.

hello can you tell me how to fix a blanked titles.us.en.json file that seems to be whats going on opn my switches i checked the file and it is indeed blank thak you ahead of time

ok so i deleted the titles.us.en.json file i beleive it made a new one and now gets past that but gets stuck on loading SDMC:/roms/ after like 10 to 20 minutes it finaly loads but it should not take so long any help would be great thanks

If you are on 19.X.X, and the latest tinfoil. It has been very slow at times. From what I've seen, its not overclocking correctly and thats causing things to be slow. So if your roms folder has a bunch of roms in it. Its probably taking a LONG time to read all of that. So my guess is that mixed with a slow sdcard already.

im on fw 20.01 and tinfoil 19 which is the latest tinfoil thanks for the info intrestingly enough when i deleted the titles file and reloaded the loading time went from an hour and a half to about ten minutes so i at least got som significant improvement until tinfoil is fixed

i can live with it as it is i only use it for ghost eshop which is down right now ill just have to make sure that when i need to use it i dont have anything else going thanks though for your help

Oh man, just download from rom sites like what it's always been then install using DBI. Obviously, can't link it here.

Same issue after updating to 20.01, slow loading sdmc/switch/tinfoil/db/titles.US.en.json on very high Sandisk MicroSD

it would be nice to see it fixed so in upgrade back to 20.01 again and have everything working goldleaf needs to fixed also because it does the same thing it loads way slower than normal on 19.01 i clocked it at 3 seconds on 20.01 i clocked it at a minure and 30 seconds sometimes more but it does load i mean honestly i could probably live with it but it would be nice to see it fixed
 
So you can delete the /titles.US.en.json from the switch/tinfoil/db folder to make it load. I've also read turning it into airplane mode

..but right now its stuck after loading my own private tinfoil server, might be another 10 minutes or 1 hour im not sure. I have 18TB, not sure if that means longer loading time.

I'm assuming it loads the .json from the shops you have connected.

Anyway - hopes that tinfoil gets updated to address this issue soon.

It loaded after about 10 minutes.

So tutorial on how to fix this issue...

1. Delete titles.US.en.json from /switch/tinfoil/db
2. Turn switch into airplane mode then launch tinfoil, it should launch fast.
3. Delete the shops which you dont use/dont want to load
4. turn off airplane mode, restart tinfoil
5. wait

this still gets stuck on loading shops when i reopen it.
