Hello everyone,

I'm looking to get a controller for Wii U games and homebrew but I also want one that will work on the vWii side (Games, VC, Emulators, Nintendont etc.) Can anyone here give me a suggestion on what controller is the best for both? Because I would like to avoid having to buy two seperate controllers and swap between them. Thanks.

But what about things that don't have forwarders? Like what if I have to boot into vwii to get to what I want to launch?
What does not have a forwarder?

If you want to boot into vwii and have a common controller that will work on both Wii U and vwii then your only option is one of the classic controllers which can be plugged into a Wiimote.

Well... the Gamepad works on *some* Wii VC injects and there are some Classic Controller hacks that you can use to patch games to make them compatible with the gamepad too (not all games will work). See New Classic Controller Hacks and Play Super Mario Galaxy using the Wii U Gamepad.

The other way is using Fakemote. A cIOS that is installed on vWii which enables Dualshock 3 and 4 support for Wii games, so you could use those controllers on the Wii U side with Bloopair, and on the Wii side with Fakemote. It is very unstable though, and only supports DS3 and DS4 with an USB cable.

If you wanted, you could make patches for Classic Controller games to work with the Pro Controller, since internally it's just a Wiimote. You'd need to prevent the program from accessing the Wiimote's internal memory if a Pro Controller is detected though, since the Pro Controller turns itself off automatically when it's asked that question. (This is how it turns itself off in Wii mode in fact!)
