    The item isn't meant to reside fully inside the the 3ds. It lets you route an sd slot to outside of your 3ds without cutting into the backplate. The picture I saw, the guy used double sided tape to mount it to the outside of the bottom plate.

    Why not do something like this: https://www.amazon.com/48cm-Sd-micro-Card-Extender-Cable/dp/B007WYRO7O Saw someone do this on reddit. They used double sided tape to stick it to the bottom of their 3ds. Bonus, you can use full size sd cards.

    I have changed the battery. I use 2 batteries that are charged externally. The device no longer recognizes the power cord at all, do it does nothing.
