    Yea I have no idea what caused it but for whatever reason the drive becomes unreadable to the Wii but still works fine while connected to computers. I think you are right in assuming that the loaders are corrupting the USB ports. I can't think of anything else that it could be.

    Well I went and borrowed a NEW hard drive that was still in the box from a friend and now it works perfectly again. So something in the other hard drive was the problem. Even though it works fine on a computer the Wii doesn't seem to like it very much.

    I am having the same problem....just hoping you had found anyway to fix this. My hard drive was working fine and now it won't connect with the Wii through any USB loader. Not sure what the problem is but nothing I have tried fixes anything. Even tried a new SD card.

    Problem is that might make sense if it had never worked from day one but it was working fine until I started adding all these loaders to try and make Mario Bros work. I don't think it is the hard drive.

    Ahhh I see more threads are starting to show up....so my Wii isn't the only one that is having problems detecting USB drives.

    Ok I updated to the Hermes IOS 222 and still nothing. Even Uloader won't recognize the hard drive. It is like the USB port has been turned off on the Wii. I am about to go crazy trying to fix this! I'm open to any ideas anyone might have since I am completely out!
