No. I believe it is shorted internally. The switches I've had with this issue still work with a few exceptions... No wired controllers, can't send a payload, battery drains quicker than normal. Your mileage may vary but this is what I've noticed
agreed. even with open data lines you will still get pd fast charge. what I've experienced with open data lines is wired controller will not work, no 5v fast charge, & excessive battery drain.
Were you running Linux? How did you acquire the driver? My system doesn't even recognize the device as being plugged in. I've tried it in Windows & Ubuntu
I've had several of these where the pins in the charge port get bent. This can short the chip in the data lines just above the charger or open the filter just above that resulting in no access to RCM. I've also had it damage the tegra. System still works as normal but the data lines won't...
It is possible you are going into rcm because you have it set to autorcm but you aren't able to send a Payload because your data line is shorted or broke. I just corrected one like this by replacing the filter just above the charge port. Now my data lines read again & I can access rcm.
