My device still is on A9HL and I think it's still on an older firmware (11.4 or similar). I also have a Sky3DS+ flash card and never used it...

    Do everything like it says on the guide. You really need to prevent from any bricks. It is better to do things multiple times than have a broken device.

    For users who still don't trust the protections of modern noob-proof CFW: Just don't update once an update is available. Look at the forums and check if anybody tried an update with A9LH yet. Once an update is available the community will inform everybody very fast about it.
