    Thanks for the help, Bortz. The screen connector was a bit loose! But now when I turn it on, even though the top screen does work, it starts out with max brightness but then darkens until it goes negative. I can still see what's happening, but it's just dark. If I fiddle with the screen power...

    Welp, I've made an account here to get some help on why exactly this happened to my DS. Since I haven't gotten the hang of soldering yet, and assumed that I could just play with headphones, I did not solder the speakers to the new screen. I don't know if that has anything to do with my problem...
