    Sir, your help turned out to be invaluable. The backup and the tip on plugin version resolved the kernel and boot problem. I still have some challanges ahead but that is a story for another time ; ). Cheers!

    I not so much worried about the loop (I have that covered) as about the inability to run anything under Kernel, cause I'm really missing the critical part that is making it run (the above-mentioned files).

    Well, to put it short I kinda effed up after switching to Enso 3.65. I was in the middle of setting up my SD card as ux0 and instead of copying ux0:tai/ to ur0:tai/ I managed to delete it instead of moving it (a smart move - I know).
