    An update: I was showing it to a friend when my TV said "480p" upon boot-up. I was even able to connect a controller, but unfortunately no picture, and I was only able to get it to do this once. I'm sending it back to the technician tomorrow if it still doesn't work next morning.

    By "no picture", I meant there was a black screen. So it's probably the "Black Screen of Death".

    No unfortunately. I don't have a multimeter anymore (I don't really fix consoles for fun, it's just something I like doing every once in a while). I may end up having to call and ask him where he got the battery.

    Uuuugh, I was afraid of that. I have a second PS3 I've been planning to jailbreak but it's broken (needs a repasting and capacitor replacement) It's a CECHE, my main PS3 is a CECHA which I just had fixed up. I just didn't want to switch PS3s just to play a DLC track lol.

    How is living on a middle floor in an apartment?

    I can say that the floors are carpeted. I've talked to a friend and they only had one noise problem but they issued a complaint and management took care of it. They live on the second floor.
