    Well, another 10 months have passed, and my urge to play those new Q1 episodes on the Switch has not diminished. It's starting to hurt a little, frankly. The only prescription is Quakespasm 0.96.1. Still a great port, even if it is getting a little long in the tooth @fgsfds!

    I doubt those numbers are including all the outsourcing that's going on, so in terms of an actual number of people making all those huge games for all those huge companies... there's even more, likely many more. Didn't Blizzard claim at some point last year that about 9000 individuals...

    I think the port introduced a separate issue that Aspyr patched. Otherwise, I played the game around release on PC, certainly well before the fan patch, and had no issues finishing it. I'd suggest grabbing the game on a sale on Steam if you're paranoid about bugs. Much cheaper that way, too.

    There's a decent chance they'll ultimately can it, I think. We're no longer in minor miracle territory for current gen Switch ports, so if it does come out and runs at a stable and playable framerate I'll be stunned. That said, if anyone has the coffers to fund years of optimizing a game to run...
