    AFAIK UZDoom is the one to use at this point. GZDoom hasn't been updated since May 2025 and even zdoom.org is listing it as "historic" - effectively deprecated.

    Well, the point is the game is still treating all of Sapkowski's writing as canon. You'll get more out knowing Emhyr from the novels than you will out of knowing the entirety of what happened in W2, basically. As to Geralt that's up for debate, and depends on your definition of "completely"...

    Not really. You'll get more out of 3 if you read the books vs playing 1 & 2. I do like 2, though.

    Different teams/studios working concurrently on different projects. And one of those studios is also remaking the 1st game, in UE. There's more projects in the pipe for CDPR, also a new IP. This expansion is sort of the answer to development taking eons, plus fishing for some easy positive W3...

    The last one didn't turn out that well even after patches, so pre-ordering was out of the question for me. Looking at some of the early impressions post-release... this wasn't a loyalty discount, it was a trap for suckers.
