Ryujinx emulator taken down after devs reach agreement with Nintendo

What I find interesting about this is that it's not the usual DMCA takedown, it's an "agreement." I have a crack theory: what if Nintendo wants to hire the Ryujinx devs to have them help work on Switch backcompat on the next Nintendo console? The Ryujinx team is very clearly familiar with the...

Jedi Survivor getting last-gen console versions

https://x.com/EAStarWars/status/1820852880766841317 Out of seemingly nowhere, EA announced versions of Star Wars: Jedi Survivor for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, due out in mid-September. I for one am very curious how a game of this graphical fidelity will run on a PS4... Digital Foundry's gonna...

    GBAtemp Community Check In

Personally I enjoy the forum and I think it's a great way to stay informed. Only two complaints: I wish people wouldn't be so negative towards news stuff. It feels like every time I see a news piece, a majority of the comments on it are going to be super negative regardless of if it's good news...

"Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon" for N64 gets a fanmade PC recompilation project

There's something really funny to me about the fact that N64 emulation has been so finicky and unstable that recompiling them is becoming an easier task than emulating them

The original Resident Evil is now available on GOG with RE2 and RE3 coming later

I really appreciate seeing more GOG love! GOG's emphasis on older titles pretty much cemented it as one of the storefronts I actively use, and I hope this move gets more people to use it. Also, does this mean that Deadly Silence is no longer the best way to play the original Resident Evil...

Nintendo Direct - June 18, 2024 - new Mario Party, Mario & Luigi game, and more

I'm surprised to see that nobody here has even mentioned The New Denpa Men! The original trilogy was pretty well known as an underrated darling in the 3DS library, and more than 10 years later we're finally getting a new installment in the west. The people behind it are pretty well known too -...

Homebrew Project [RELEASE] FriishProduce - multiplatform WAD injector

How the heck do you use a custom WAD database? I wanted to poke around with it and see what happens if i force an injection on a WAD not supported and test it in Dolphin lol also where do i put NES files if it simply acts as a forwarder for FCEUGX?

'Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero' gets new gameplay trailer

From the bits I've seen, this game looks slick!

Akira Toriyama, creator of Dragon Ball, and artist for Dragon Quest, has passed away

Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, released a response to his passing, ending it with the sentence, "May heaven be the joyous world he envisioned." Powerful words. Not only is he responsible for creating such incredible works in Japan, but those works completely revolutionized and changed...

Yuzu emulator shutting down, paying Nintendo 2.4 million in lawsuit settlement

My best guess: they didn't want to risk that legality being tampered with in a court case, so they took the blow to protect emulation legality

Pokemon Presents, February 2024 Roundup - New Legends entry and mobile TGC game

Genuinely was not expecting more Kalos content, definitely a region I felt went underappreciated by TPC/GF. There was alot of overlap with Unova and the 3DS so alot of the potential spinoffs went to that instead. Awesome to see this! One note - really interesting that it's a 2025 Switch game...

Sony working on PC VR support for PSVR2

If this ends up being a SteamVR solution, I would love to see someone mod adaptive trigger support into VR games. VRChat with adaptive triggers would be awesome (if maybe a bit difficult to implement).

TheFlow has hacked the PlayStation Portal, manages to run PPSSPP natively on the device

That checks out then! Android often tends to be used on devices like this anyways, so I had a feeling it was.
