    Ok I got everything to work. DS and 3DS games run fine now. But it seems with one of the later updates nintendo made it so if the tickets are not legit for the game then it will not update the game. Looks like I will have to manually update each game via .cia.

    I tried the patched final version 2 and get a white screen. I patched it with both xdelta and beats and still get the same problem. Using a blue ds gateway cart. Even the unpatched game has a white screen. edit: nevermind fixed the issue.
