Hacking Bricked Wii - please help

It's not even mine. I offered to mod a friend's wii. Now I'm probably going to give him my wii in replacement. And all I'll have left is a brick. Something to bang my head against. My wife is so going to be pissed...

Hacking Bricked Wii - please help

Oh screw it all. I think I know what I did wrong. I installed a stub of IOS 60. Damn me... Would that prevent Priiloader from running though?

Hacking Bricked Wii - please help

i know... I should have made a nand backup... but I didn't... I can't boot into BootMii anyway. Is there a way to autoboot and then Smash Stack perhaps, and reinstall Sysmenu? I really don't know what went wrong. Did I do something wrong back there? Install IOS 60 and Sysmenu 4.1 WADs, then...

I did try to press reset while turning the power on, as I was trying to get into Priiloader. Unfortunately, nothing happens.

Hacking Bricked Wii - please help

I was modding a Korean Wii. I managed to get everything done (HBC, CIOS, updated IOS) except region change. To change the region, I loaded up MMM via HBC and installed IOS 60 and System Menu 4.1U. I then ran AnyRegion Changer and changed the settings to english, USA and saved. I returned to...

Hacking can wii emulate .exe files?

Well if it's a game maker, someone could come up with a game maker engine port, esp if the rules/game logic, graphics and sounds are stored outside the exe. Still, that would be a big if, but at least it wouldn't be emulation.

    Hacking TvC FPK tool

I don't know if I did this correctly, but I replaced ryu's 0000.fpk file with a recompiled one using WiiScrubber's replace function. Unfortunately, TvC now freezes whenever I select Ryu. So it's either my compression is wrong in some places, or the checksum thing... Things to try with a...

    Hacking TvC FPK tool

I was thinking about how to reverse those formats when it occurred to me that we have the code for reading the formats. It's a long shot, but shouldn't the game contain the code for reading those files? The main.dol of TvC contains the folder names for the ssds, fpks and other resources. If...

    Hacking TvC FPK tool

@ganons: FPK is more or less an archive file, used to store related sets of data. The TvC FPKs seem to store data related to the characters, as they are stored in folders such as "fpk/ryu" and "fpk/sak". When unpacked, you get a bunch of folders and files, with various extensions like *.MOT...

    Hacking TvC FPK tool

I've written an FPK packer for Tatsunoko vs Capcom. It will scan a folder recursively and compress the files into a fpk. The fpk files generated by the packer can be unpacked with unFPK, but I haven't been able to test by replacing files on the ISO. The files are generally larger by around 1k...

    Hacking Code a *.fpk packer

I've compiled the above test program and uploaded it. Link below. FPKer windows binary Please try and let me know if you have any problems running it. Syntax is CODEfpker.exe You can also drag and drop a file onto it. The program will generate a compressed.bin and uncompressed.bin file in...

    Hacking Code a *.fpk packer

[UPDATE] I've managed to get compression working to a point where the uncompressed data looks just like the original. In my test below, I compress a file, then use tba's decompression routine to unpack the data. Using FileAlyzer I verified that the uncompressed and original data were exact...

    Hacking Code a *.fpk packer

I'm still getting a grip on the compression scheme, and implementing a proper compression routine will take a bit more time. I've never written a real compression routine before (well I did have a go at a Huffman implementation, but it was long ago and only worked on text files for some...
