    I think a good competitor for Smash could be Power Stone if Capcom ever wanted to make a new one (since it just got re-released). It's similar, but different enough from Smash to stand as it's own thing.

    Castlevania 2, it could benefit from a lot of improvements and take a few elements from the metroidvanias. Especially since the remake of Haunted Castle was amazing.
