    I'm in the process now of updating the new HDD with the CFW, and it seems to be working well so far. Thanks for the help! Edit: I successfully formatted and updated the new 300gb HDD with CFW :D.

    Mine is a CECHL04, so I guess I have to reinstall the CFW. I just put the new HDD into my fat PS3 booted up in recovery mode. The system wouldn't recognize the CFW on the USB stick so I just shut it off. Should I format the new HDD on a computer before inserting it into the PS3? I also thought...

    I've recently jailbroken a fat PS3 and I'm interested in putting a bigger internal hdd inside it. I have another PS3 which is the slim model and it's not on CFW. The slim PS3's hdd is 300gb and I want to swap that with my fat PS3's hdd which is only 80gb. I wonder if I can just swap the hdd...

    Thank you for providing the tutorial. Do you know if this tutorial is up to date? Obviously the Rebug CFW has changed since then, but is there anything else I should be aware of?
