You'd be better off to grab one of the many mods that add sprinting, tbh. The game is still pretty unstable but chances are high it's still much more stable than the remaster will be, especially if the Oblivion Remaster was anything to go by. -

When it comes to playing old retro games, I normally find myself having to use frame rate limiters to slow games down to 30 FPS, or the game's physics/AI tend to be broken.
