Went ahead and installed USB-C power boards in my PS1 and my PS2 and while I had the PS2 opened up I took the time to swap the clock battery out with a new one. Word of advice if you do the PS2 USB-C power mod! You will be limited to 2.5" drives...

I slapped a couple of 18650 reclaimed from a dead notebook to a cheap LED flashlight, together with a tp4056 and a boost converter to 5v (original was 3x1.5v AA in series). -

So far I've reshelled three OG DS out of the four I got from Japan labeled as junk. One more to go and I have to change the top screen on it. Once I'm done with those, I want to try my hand at reshelling a DS Lite that needs restoration work.
