    I can confirm, on my pal launch day wii: SSBB JAP DVD9 will NOT run in 480P but 480I. Shows a weird graphical distortion for a second right after booting too. With some white lines and some green in it.

    I was 1 of the people receiving a "check connections" error while updating the wiikey, so I called the guy who originaly put in my wiikey to see if he could check the soldering. ( btw I am 100 percent sure it is no clone because it was put in thefirst week the wiikey was even released, no clones...

    updating through smg before or after the wiikey doesn't matter, it won't hurt your wii ( as long as you allready have the latest firmware installed). I actualy just fixed my problem. I just put in a new wiikey, and it worked first try. Same disc n everything, so no bad burn or something like...
