Interestingly that's correct but not a problem switch 1 faced, as the CFW allowed the exFAT patches to be applied manually, so there's nothing to say a similar approach wouldn't work on switch 2
I think the only debate / question to be had is the microSD Express card update.
If that can only be applied on the latest firmware then there’s an incentive to get it done asap.
That said, I’ve kept my switch in the box on firmware 19.0
That said, currently on the switch 1 the patch can be applied manually outside of Nintendo - there’s no evidence that any future hack for the switch 2 wouldn’t follow the same approach.
ive bought 2 consoles (non bundle versions) - left 1 untouched and put in the loft, the 2nd ive got Mario kart physical cart and will keep it as low as possible (until Metroid comes out) with the ExpressSD card patch applied.
Best of both worlds!
Can then sell one when an exploit comes out
It’s a tricky one. As if a future exploit is pushed / ran via the microsd card then you MUST install the day 1 patch to activate the SD port. If not, fast forward 2 years and an exploit drops you can’t run…
Tough decision for people with 2 consoles. I guess
No idea why the SD card doesn’t work...

To be crystal clear, the day 1 patch people refer to is purely for the switch 1 game card support.
You do NOT need an update to play switch 2 cards with release.
ive seen various twitter sources comment on that the day 0 patch is NOT required to play switch 2 games. So I think option 1 in the poll is the best option (for those with multiple consoles)

So I have 2 switches coming on launch day and a physical copy of Mario Kart.
My plan is setup one (no internet) and try launch the physical game, see if it requires me todo some update / connect to the internet. Then keep that also offline (as long as I can until Metroid is released).
Ill keep...
Yeh I’m now super torn too, I bought 2 consoles purely to keep one locked up, but after seeing leaked retail units requiring a firmware update on day 0 to boot (check twitter you’ll see).
I voted on the poll
Is it worth buying a PS4 Pro to pirate? Serious question as an Xbox gamer.
Is spider man any good? (Mostly play far cry, warzone, batman, fallen order)
