Nintendo wins legal case over ROM site, site owner ordered to pay $12 million in damages

The original developers deserve the cash. A lot of these developers/companies are long defunct, or even their staff could be dead. I can't buy a copy of oh.. I don't know.. Miracle Warriors for the Master System because i loved the game as a kid and have money go to the original devs. I'd have...

Nintendo wins legal case over ROM site, site owner ordered to pay $12 million in damages

The text in the injunction is incredible. https://torrentfreak.com/images/romsinjunc.pdf more than 99% of what nintendo took down is simply not attainable legally. It's not unfair if nintendo is simply not "competing". And they wonder why people pirate their games...

GBAtemp Exclusive EZFlash Omega (GBA flash cart) in house at GBAtemp

I have to wonder if adding the RTC adds extra power draw. How does a standard Pokemon R/S/E cart stand with power draw?

Homebrew Can Nintendo create a signed update that retrieves the OTP?

Nintendo probably has the OTP for every console sitting in a database somewhere. That said, unless they can somehow override the firm0/1 protection, it shouldn't really be possible for them to uninstall a9lh. As always, if there's an update, let the guys with hardmods test if anything breaks first.

Hacking AuReiNAND + Menuhax + Lesshax = 99.99% boot rate

That's probably an artifact of GCC more than anything. I once spent weeks figuring out why -O2 broke my code and -O1 didn't. It turned out that -O2 turned on some optimizations that it said it wasn't going to, and broke. Once I figured that out, I had gcc dump what exactly it was doing and...

Homebrew Decrypt9 Won't Restore My emuNAND from a9lh

Do you have slot0x05keyY.bin? It looks like you have a N3DS and the release notes say N3DS needs that.

Hacking Potential reason for random errors on N3DS after downgrading?

Just wanted to throw my two cents in: I had a N3DS on 9.8.0-25, and used safesysupdater with 9.2.0-u-full package to downgrade. Entrypoint was ninjhax. It failed and gave me a franken firmware of 9.2.0-25. Ninjhax was unable to boot back with no modifications to the payload, trying to enter...

Tutorial RXtools CFW coldboot full installation guide for New3DS, from Browserhax & Homemenuhax to Rxtools

I can't boot ninjhax 1.1b directly; but I can using boot_manager-b05. Using boot-manager as my boot.3dsx, I can also launch reinand directly after editing the boot.cfg using path = "/reiNand.dat"; offset = "0x12000"; Pretty neat. Now I never need to touch sysnand. Thanks OP.

Gaming DS lite won't boot -- both screens flash

That is what I suspect, as it does have a small crease in the cable.. Damn that thing was difficult to thread in and out. If no one else has any suggestions i'll buy a cable and report back.

Gaming DS lite won't boot -- both screens flash

I just swapped a working DS lite into a new shell, and initially the top screen flashed when turning it on so I reseated the bottom LCD, and now it flashes both LCDs and turns on, gets a brighter green light, then turns off. The fuses look okay, but the EM10 filter is cracked (I can actually...

Gaming Identifying Fake GBA games- A Useful FAQ

Necrobump: I have what appears to be a new(? non listed that I can find anywhere) fake FF5 GBA cart. It's a pretty clever fake -- The label is correct except a missing registered trademark symbol next to the nintendo seal of quality. The color/texture of the plastic of the cart is off, too...
