Tutorial Backup/Restore your Nand + Get your biskeys+tseckeys+keys.txt Guide

So I was able to follow this guide and get everything backed up, but I'm not sure I understand how it's used. I opened up a BNIB Switch with 4.1 firmware, went through initial setup, and then did all the backups. If I'm planning on updating to 5.1 and I don't care about nogc/fuses/downgrading -...

Hacking Question Where is the Difference between ReiNX and Atmosphére?

Yea, one is a person stealing something with a price tag from a company which needs to pay their employees, and the other is people stealing something which is free made by volunteers who should be expecting to receive nothing in return.

Hacking Sound Distortion after installing A9LH (Soundhax)

Nope, they're all limited editions I bought directly from Gamestop/Wal-Mart. And no magnets.

Hacking Sound Distortion after installing A9LH (Soundhax)

I mean, I experienced sound distortion on 4 out of 4 devices, which is consistent as far as my experiences go at least. Yes, I've triple checked the guide and I'm sure I didn't miss any steps.

Hacking Sound Distortion after installing A9LH (Soundhax)

As I said, sometime during the firmware downgrade/ctrtransfer steps. I can't be certain since the time spent actually hearing any sounds is minimal - only the home menu makes sounds since all the mod/hack stuff is silent. I didn't really idle on any of the steps for very long. I would assume...

Hacking Sound Distortion after installing A9LH (Soundhax)

Sound is just fine using headphones. But it's far less convenient to have to pull out headphones all the time, the owner doesn't even like wearing headphones in the first place. I'm not saying A9LH or CFW causes the sound distortion, but the downgrade/ctr step to get to that stage has always...

Hacking Sound Distortion after installing A9LH (Soundhax)

It's a fairly new device, so I find it less likely that the speakers just decided to start breaking at the exact same time I decided to mod it. Is it uncommon for sound to be distorted during modding? Because each one I've modded has had distorted sounds, whether new or old.

They were fine before starting the mod though, this particular device was being used for about 2 months with no issues including the day of.

Hacking Sound Distortion after installing A9LH (Soundhax)

I installed A9LH on two N3DS 11.0, using System Transfer / DSi Downgrade. While installing these, their speakers became distorted (either after the firmware downgrade or the CTRtransfer, not sure which), but they became fixed on the last step (firmware update / dspdump). Modded a third N3DS, on...

Hacking How do I setup Gateway (from o3DS to n3DS)?

I currently own an o3DS and Gateway, which I stopped using sometime around the 9.5 update. I updated emuNAND to 9.9, and my NNID is still linked together. I'm planning on getting a n3DS sometime in the near future, but have been unable to find the details on how to implement Gateway and transfer...

Hacking emuNAND, DLC, and Save Files newbie questions

After much more google-ing, I found that this was a common glitch with the 3.0 launcher. Somehow, after running the Diagnostics Test on the Gateway menu, all games started working normally despite not changing anything.

Hacking emuNAND, DLC, and Save Files newbie questions

Tried using a different microSD, Samsung 16gb. No errors with the windows checked, also formatted to exFat, still won't work with SSB or M&L. I used to use this microSD several years ago for my Acekard2, so I don't think it's a fake. Is there any other reason I would be receiving the game card...

Hacking emuNAND, DLC, and Save Files newbie questions

Thank you for all the answers, I understand how this thing works a lot better now. I ran the windows error check and h2testw on the microSD, both showed no errors. Formatted the card twice, and still no dice. I'll try again later with a different microSD.
