    I'm 99% certain it will not do the autoswitching - physical presence of the pin means nothing if there are no electronics to drive it... heaps of the right type of cable on eBay delivered for under £5/€6/$8 worldwide...

    The SCART/Peritel standard has had RGB since inception in about 1977... just cheap manufacturers didn't play ball. Anyway the case here is the Wii, the Wii has RGB on an RGB SCART cable and the display equipment will autoswitch to that input if it receives the signal on pin 8 (ie. should happen...

    Do what? Wii here connected to TV via "proper" RGB SCART cable (ie. not cobbled together composite cable plus adaptor) does exactly what the OP wants (provided his TV supports it - which it would appear to do based on his home theatre experience)

    The supplied cable doesn't have pin 8 switching on the SCART (since it's a composite video cable with an unintelligent physical adaptor). To get that you need the fully wired SCART cable.

    Does he have any original ones in stock? I'd suggest that he doesn't and is looking to make a sale, any sale by telling you what he hopes you want to hear... if he had the originals in stock he'd be looking to make the sale on that instead because it's no doubt a bigger dollar amount.

    If it's a GC ISO it should be 1.35GB, as far as I know the WODE can only do GC ISO and no other format.
