Hacking Wii doesn't recognize known good USB Drive

Apparently USB Loader GX has problems identifying NTFS and FAT32 if there isn't a WBFS partition. Configurable USB Loader seems to work just fine so I'll stick with that for now.

Hacking Wii doesn't recognize known good USB Drive

OK, I'm a little closer now. I updated to r938 and now it reads WBFS just fine, but it can't see the games on the NTFS drive. At least it see's the drive though, but it wants to format it. I named the folder with my Wii backups "WBFS" and that folder is in the root of the drive. Hmmm....

Hacking Wii doesn't recognize known good USB Drive

I'm having trouble getting USB Loader GX to recognize two drives - one NTFS and one WBFS, both are compatible. The WBFS drive should work because Coverfloader saw it without problems. But I'd really like to use a loader that accepts NTFS so I'm testing USB Loader GX. First step is getting it to...

Homebrew Quick question about MPlayer CE, SMB and NAS

I'm going through the same thing with a 1TB drive on a NAS enclosure. Connects with no problems from my PC and Mac, but no luck from my Wii, even using FTP. How come networking is so hit-or-miss?

    Homebrew NAS access problem

I tried using MPlayer_CE with FTP but still no luck. What is it about NAS drives that causes these types of problems with the Wii? After reading other posts, it seems like there are so many NAS drives that don't work with the Wii.

    Homebrew NAS access problem

I'm using a cheap LAN enclosure with little-to-no documentation online. Here's the manufacturer website with the product I'm using: http://www.szwlxkj.com/English/ProView.asp?Pid=49 It does support SMB; I connect to it that way without any problems from the other computers in my house. It also...

    Homebrew NAS access problem

I'm having trouble accessing the roms and media on my NAS server with FCEUGX, SNES9XGX, and MPlayer_CE. I'm sure it's something simple and I'm just being stupid, but any help would be appreciated. I can access shared folders on my PC from my Wii, so I know my Wii has the capability. It's just...

Homebrew USB drives for emulators & wad manager help

OK, figured out my problem. I am using a second hard drive (FAT32) dedicated to roms and saves and it was plugged into USB Port 1. I switched it the Port 0 (the one closest to the outside of the Wii) and unplugged my WBFS HD and the emulators recognized my drive.

Homebrew USB drives for emulators & wad manager help

Same issue here. I heard DVDX could be causing the problem so I uninstalled it but still no go. Any advice would be helpful.

Hacking Taking a softmoded Wii to Nintendo - Will they care?

Yeah, I'm happy they made it that easy.

Hacking Taking a softmoded Wii to Nintendo - Will they care?

Took it to Nintendo HQ and they gave me a choice: have them send it to Kirkland (WA) to try and extract data or exchange with a brand new one. I took the new Wii with new warranty. Quick and easy - was in and out in 5 minutes.

Hacking Taking a softmoded Wii to Nintendo - Will they care?

Thanks for all of your advice - this is getting more attention than I expected. I plan on playing the stupid consumer game, I feel stupid enough for not being prepared though with the necessary files already on the system. The Wii is only a month old so hopefully all I will have to pay for...

Hacking Taking a softmoded Wii to Nintendo - Will they care?

I have an unchipped 3.2U with a softmod. Installed the mplayer 007 Channel WAD and it supposedly installed successfully (so it said), and now I'm getting the "System Files are Correupted" error after the Health screen. Yes, I was not prepared with the Twilight Princess hacked gamesave or...
