  1. 'ZERO PARADES: Director's Cut' and PS5 launch announced

I'm not sure how many people here played this, but this is nice to see. I'm still midway through my first playthrough, hopefully I can see some of this new content.
  2. The weekend is here, what are you playing?

I'm in the latter half of Disco Elysium's successor, Zero Parades: For Dead Spies. Disco Elysium is a hard act to follow. That sarcastic nihilistic tone Disco was known for is here in Zero Parades, but it felt dissonant initially. "Iced-out international spy trapped in a government conspiracy"...
  3. Firmware 23.0.0 released for Switch and Switch 2, brings docked VRR to Switch 2

*shudders in karariko village* 1789115929 Correct! And specifically, it'll be HDMI 2.1-compliant VRR that's needed here for the Switch 2.
  4. Do you buy LEGO sets?

Sorry, but this set is digital only. You'll get a code in the box for a 3D render of a Lego PS1
  5. Firmware 23.0.0 released for Switch and Switch 2, brings docked VRR to Switch 2

That's how it works for PS5 games too, but Sony has a universal toggle that forces it on (with a warning that it might cause instability in some games). I'd imagine Nintendo could implement something like that if they wished.
  6. Firmware 23.0.0 released for Switch and Switch 2, brings docked VRR to Switch 2

That would be the obvious option for Nintendo to include so you can guarantee it won't be there in this update!
  7. Firmware 23.0.0 released for Switch and Switch 2, brings docked VRR to Switch 2

Reading the changelog, it says "If supported by both the software and your TV." Leads me to believe it's game-specific for now.
  8. Welcome to our new Chief Editor...

    Congrats @Scarlet!! None more deserving.
  9. The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct recap, Ocarina of Time remake release date revealed

What I'm loving about this remake is the animation quality. I think this would feel a lot more lifeless and "Unreal Engine remake" if it wasn't for the whimsical and detailed animation on every character and blade of grass. The world feels "bouncy" if that makes sense. Goes a long way to making...
  10. The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct recap, Ocarina of Time remake release date revealed

I'll do you one better. The 3DS version had some of the best 3D on that console, underrated way to enjoy OOT.
  11. Chary to step down as Chief editor: Thank You for a wonderful 5+ years

@Chary Will never forget streaming with you, Meteor7, Luna and everyone else, or everything in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey back in 2017. Your E3 recaps were always so fun to read, as were your blogs featuring your cats and your family (hope they're doing well). For as big and prominent as...
  12. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe gets free Switch 2 update, adds eight-player multiplayer, higher resolution visuals, camera support, and more

The better Mario Kart, I'm afraid. I'm straight up gonna play 8 still. I don't want to race on a straight path anymore
  13. Xbox to offer digital licences with physical disc purchases

Yeah, discs after installs are just DRM. After the Xbox 360 era, I moved entirely to PC and Switch. Didn't own a PS4 or Xbone till the end of that console gen so imagine my surprise when I learned the games don't boot straight from disc anymore. Whole game's installed to the console first, and...
  14. Editorial Worth the wait - a look at Elden Ring on the Switch 2

I saw this game in action last year at PAX West. The performance was a little rough, glad to see it turned out alright!
  15. Pokémon X/Twitter account compromised to advertise memecoin

I have friends who fly to different states to buy and sell cards at conventions. A lot of them make a profit too. Didn't realize how crazy it'd gotten till I saw those Pokemon vending machines. They limit inventory release in random 2-8 hr windows to deter loitering, else it sells out immediately.
