    I am myself a programmer (don't have time for DS development, though), I'm also a big fan of freeware and open source, and I try to buy as many games as my budget permits, so, yes, I would really like to give some donation to AKAIO team. I think it's just logical.

    AK 2.1 is older and works only on DS Phat/Lite. AK 2i works on DS and DSi.

    File corruption does happen sometimes. I strongly suggest everyone to regularly make backups of your save files on your PC. That's what I do.

    If memory storage is not a problem for you, just create a folder on your SD card for each person, with a copy of the ROM in each folder. Then, the .sav will be created in the same folder of the ROM you chose to start. This way, you won't have to change ROM options each time.

    What are you talking about? AKAIO 1.5 is not so old. Plus, a lot of loaders have been released since then. I think the last one came out a few days ago, on december 4th. So, no, it's not discontinued.

    It must be that, because I get the same behavior, only before the battery is low for real and the light always shows red. If the battery is fully charged, I don't get this behavior, the light is always green.

    Start / system options / advanced settings / save ext. For a reason or another, this option was resetted. Just tell AKAIO which save extension you are using.

    File system corruption. Shit happens. Format your micro sd card using Panasonic SD formatter. From now, regularly backup your games and saves, never shutdown your DS while a game is being saved, and try not to use cheap or oem micro sd cards. If it often happens, with different micro sd cards...

    I don't know if it's still the case, but at the beginning, the AK2i was having a very high defect rate. So it was safer to buy the original AK2.

    Did you try SNEmulDS? http://www.snemul.com/ds/ It's an SNES emulator for the NDS. It's not perfect, but it does the job for some games.
