The weekend is here, what are you playing?

I'm currently working on the Platinum in Peace Walker after finishing up 4's, currently at that very annoying end game stage where all unlocks are stuck behind vehicle battles, including the equipment that actually makes them easier in the first place, so it's kind of sloggy at the moment...

'Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.2' launches today

They've found references to SaveMGO in the MC versions code, so there's absolutely some stuff they didn't have anymore and were only able to get due to the preservation efforts of fans. You can keep trying to belittle the Devs efforts but it won't change the facts, it's had the reputation as...

'Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.2' launches today

I feel you're missing the point of the emulation, it's an example of how deeply ingrained in to the PS3's OS the game is, not an exact comparison of the work. They had to make the emulator significantly more accurate just for MGS4 and even then it still had issues. They probably did still have...

'Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.2' launches today

A bunch of stuff would have had to be remade from the ground up, the game didn't even have it's own save system, it just used the PS3's own internal save system, so it couldn't save without access to the PS3's OS. There's stuff like this all over the game, where it's using the PS3's own...

Sony is moving away from physical discs, will soon only release PlayStation games digitally

And with that, the last of my old reasons for sticking with console over PC is gone (Nintendo still an exception for now at least). Guess I'll stick with the PS5 and hope PC components come down towards something reasonable in 2-4 years, if they don't I guess I'll be done with any new games...

Steam Deck gets a major price bump, more than 40% increase for US buyers

Yeah, I'm aware of those, It's just that the steam deck had basically everything I wanted in terms of both PC games compatability and emulation, it also meant I didn't have to go looking around in a market that seems to have new handhelds released every other day.

Steam Deck gets a major price bump, more than 40% increase for US buyers

Well I was saving for a 1tb oled model but I ain't paying nearly £800 for one, wanted one mainly for older stuff and emulation on a handheld (hence the 1tb model as wanted lots of storage). Guess I'll put the money towards something else, either a different handheld PC or just stick with...

'Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater' online multiplayer mode 'Fox Hunt' goes live today

It's not like Konami doesn't deserve the crap they get. They basically told all their fans to shove their money up their asses because Pachinko was better, then the Pachinko laws changed and absolutely screwed them and they realised they had no regular games division to make up for it because...

PlayStation Plus catalog games for October 2025 announced

I didn't downgrade exactly, but what I did do was let it run out last year, then when the Black Friday sales came around I was able to get discounted store cards along with the discount on PS+ itself, and got 1 years of premium for what worked out to £78 out of my bank, which is a bit more worth...

Electronic Arts has been bought out for $55 billion, company will be going private

Was thinking this could be the best thing for EA's games (New people could fix it) or the worst (they don't), then I saw who actually owns it and yeah, EA's not going to be around for too long, and given the state they've been in for a while that's probably for the best.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 has been announced, includes bonus spinoff game

Time to get back up on that ruff!

Hacking Romhacker colorizes all Final Fantasy branded games for the original Game Boy

First one had a version on the Wonderswan Color as well that had a bunch of QoL changes to it like actually telling you what monster you'd get when you eat meat before you actually eat it. That also has a fan translation available and is really the best version to play if you can. The three...

PS1/2 How can you increase materia slots in FF7 original?

Increasing materia slots was only a thing for the Remake/Rebirth, as it was made with the mindset of keeping weapons viable for the whole game. Original version you get more slots by getting better equipment, either via buying it, finding it in a container, or occasionally as a drop/steal...

Nintendo Switch Online gets four new SNES games this month

Oh good, the 16-bit version of Battletoads Double Dragon with the broken hitboxes that make the game significantly harder/damn near impossible with out good luck, rather than the objectively better 8-bit version that has none of those issues, just what we needed... Note: It's one of my...

    PlayStation 5 Pro announced, will cost $699 / £699 / €799

So once you add the disc drive and vertical stand you're probably looking at £800 in the UK, it would also be about $800 in the US, so the UK version is actually $1,046... I would have been alright with upgrading and trading the old one in, but they can shove it with that pricing. Also you can...
