Hardware USB-C replacement, USB not recognized - verification needed

I just wanted to post again that I got the USB-C tegrasmash working correctly again. Let me explain how. So test pad 2 and 3 are for D- and D+ on the USB-C. After looking at the points for an internal modchip I determined that these points are all I should need for this to work. Tracing...

Hardware USB-C replacement, USB not recognized - verification needed

I went ahead and removed the USB-C connector again. It looks like I lifted a pin after mucking with it. Could someone provide me with an alternate connection for this pin? It looks like this is a TX...

Hardware USB-C replacement, USB not recognized - verification needed

Yup I have a rework station and I am pretty confident that this is connected, but I was actually looking for a way to do a continuity test for those hidden pins. There was a user on here that had a method for testing the hidden pins but I have been unable to find the post that outlines that...

Hardware USB-C replacement, USB not recognized - verification needed

Hey there, I replaced my usb port on my switch trying to get to the bottom of my no HDMI issue. Everything seemed to work, charging etc, however I can no longer smash the stack in RCM mode because the switch isn't communicating over USB. I have replaced the USB-C more than once, and I have...

Absolutely, that checks good from the pin to the opposing side.

    Hardware M92T36 or BQ24193

Yup it does, checks good from the chip to the choke, also its hard to tell where the chip is but that wire only touches that 1 pin, I tested that as well. I also took apart a dock and tried flipping the usb-c around, but it does the same thing. The switch sees the dock and blanks the screen...

So this same switch with the output to screen issue. I pulled it apart again and here is an image of the rework I did: I had to rerun a new line to the filter because the person before me lifted that pad. Now that I am looking at it I am wondering if I am missing another component? Perhaps...

1.see if your switch can get into RCM mode and you can launch lockpick or hekate 2. Go ahead and boot to the OS that is loaded and make sure it works via sysnand 3. reboot to rcm and launch lockpick and verify the number of fuses 3. check the homebrew wiki and line up the version 4. download the...

Yes that is correct that image is before the repair. You think because those caps are for decoupling that something else is causing this issue? Perhaps I need to reflow that chip again and make sure all the connections are solid?

    Hardware M92T36 or BQ24193

I did, I replaced it and I also had to run a line to one of the filters, it looks like the last tech lifted a pad underneath the chip you can see that on the bottom left pin where it was scratched off. When I lifted the chip off that pad was gone. In any event it works but it it doesn't connect...

You answered my question. From my research those are decoupling caps. I believe they are 100pf. I have an LCR meter en route so I will lift that last cap off the board, measure it, then try to replace that. Thanks for your help. I'll report back.

Pins 32, 29, and 26 looks like the VDD lines. If you look at my pic you can see they are missing. The specs sheet calls for caps but they are gone.

    Hardware M92T36 or BQ24193

I have another switch that won't display anything when in the dock. It was another ebay no power purchase that I tossed a P13usb on. It looks like the repair was attempted but whoever did it lacked the skills to complete and managed to blow some caps off the VDD in on the side closest to the...

    Hardware M92T36 or BQ24193

Actually, funny thing..the OS not loading was because of a firmware mismatch with the fuses. I loaded atmos and then choidujoourNX and upgraded to 8.0.1 for 9 fuses burnt. wala! Switch fires up. It makes me think that testing for the switch fast charging (switch from .48 to 1.78) with the mb...
