    @Setery said his joycons were on the grip. We know from yellows8 that we need some kind of rotation and a movement from both joycons. We may need to do a barrel roll with them :wacko:

    I used every file explorer to extract the original icons, used banner maker with a random image for the banner and only kept the icon.bin generated.

    Yes I'm sure, when you launch the game (2016 Yellow, tested with spanish release) pressing select, the frame is not an old GB but a purple GBC ;)

    Hi, From what I've seen, the Pokémon Yellow official banner is a GBC one, not a GB.

    Well, with the correct patch, I was able to go to the wifi partner prompt with a french Yellow ROM. Gonna try a real trade tomorrow and let you know.

    That's what I did. Honnestly, I don't think I'll spend time trying to figure out how to solve the issue, I only wanted to see what happened if I injected the same game but in another language. Now I saw it doesn't work as is, time to move on. At least now I know how to decrypt, unpack inject...

    I did not actually try to trade, only talked to the NPC and instead of the game pausing and displaying the wifi stuff, the game glitched, crashed and kicked me back to Home Menu. What I tried to see was if saves would still work if I injected the same rom but in another language.

    So, I injected a french yellow rom on a spanish yellow one. Not only trade doesn't work as the game glitched when I talked to the trade NPC, but it also corrupted my save. Guess I'll have to wait for someone to dump the legit french yellow version ;)
