Nintendo announces plans to discontinue Nintendo Switch line in Europe next year, outlines upcoming hardware changes for other devices

Thanks for the corrections. My thing is, when making software to hardware compatibility comparisons, I'm always leaning on hardware being better. I've had some let downs and janky experiences with other platforms (Apple, Windows, and a small bit of Linux primarily) that have similar solutions...

Nintendo announces plans to discontinue Nintendo Switch line in Europe next year, outlines upcoming hardware changes for other devices

Started off great? Not sure in what reality it "started off great," when backwards compatibility as a feature wasn't even accessible on launch day of the Nintendo Switch 2. A firmware update was required. When the software-level translation / compatibility layer was finally accessible, it was...

Nintendo announces plans to discontinue Nintendo Switch line in Europe next year, outlines upcoming hardware changes for other devices

You already listed one of the problems: - Lack of 100% game compatibility. Which by extension means that it's also not 100% accurate. Graphics rendering tends to be the first thing negatively impacted by these layers. A good example of these issues, Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition (not to...

Nintendo announces plans to discontinue Nintendo Switch line in Europe next year, outlines upcoming hardware changes for other devices

So almost a 10 year run give or take. Slight unrelated rant though, I'm still not sold on the Nintendo Switch 2's backwards compatibility. That's a lot of faith being put into a software level translation layer. Say what you want about the original Nintendo Switch, but if you want native...

Sony is moving away from physical discs, will soon only release PlayStation games digitally

I hope the film side of things keeps the format going, like they do DVD. I know not everyone has access to a good Wi-Fi connection for streaming, if any access at all. Losing video games to an all digital future is bad enough, we don't need film getting that treatment too.

Sony is moving away from physical discs, will soon only release PlayStation games digitally

Unless that emulator uses encryption keys or code that they shouldn't be using, I don't think Sony can do anything. If there aren't any attack vectors to go after, then it can exist freely. The emulator simply existing isn't a good enough reason to kill it.

Sony is moving away from physical discs, will soon only release PlayStation games digitally

From a physical perspective, that's a high probability. They may not see the need to include a drive with the PlayStation 6 if it's only good for PlayStation 5 discs. What people are entirely missing though is, with the death of the disc drive, that basically puts question marks over the...

Sony is moving away from physical discs, will soon only release PlayStation games digitally

You know, one of the biggest factors that gave consoles an identity, was the physical media. That point became even bigger when physical media died off for P.C.. Consoles offered experiences that even today, the average computer doesn't replicate completely, if at all. When you went out to buy...

Xbox to increase in price again in August, Series S set to hit $500

The Nintendo Switch 2 is stated to go up from $449 to $499 in September. So that's more fun. We just need to break the pillars holding up this ugly foundation.

    Hacking DeadSkullzJr's NDS(i) Cheat Databases

The whole point is you don't need to download the whole thing. You only need specific files in this case. You waste time downloading the whole thing. You shouldn't tell people to download more than they need either.

You don't need an account. You navigate the directories and double click or tap on the file needed to start the download. 1781361211 You don't need to do that. You just double click / tap on the file you want to start the download. Not sure why everyone goes the odd way around, but it's not...

Original ZSNES developers reunite, emulator gets a revival as Super ZSNES with a swath of new features

I've played with the emulator since v0.100b. I haven't had any input lag at all. I seriously have no idea where or why people are somehow having this. I know I keep a more consistent / clean setup, so maybe it's to do with how people are handling the software environment outside of the emulator...
