Testing this out with a 128GB SanDisk card, I haven't really noticed any increased speeds like the 2TB video that was only 4-5 seconds. I am also seeing some issues with mods that load files from the card, Smash NEOS crashed upon loading a stage.
I wonder if it would be possible to reuse GodMode9's free space calculation (which is noticeably faster than Nintendo's code) during pre-boot, disable Nintendo's from running, and write the correct value in memory where Nintendo's would.
Let me try to implement it.
I haven't received any report of SD card corruption until now (and hopefully never in the future).
If you disable the patch (reject to apply the patch on boot) does it still crash?
Currently only way to use this...

tempted to try this patch, are there any real drawbacks other than the 3ds not knowing how much space is left on the drive? I assume as long as I leave a buffer of space on my card I should be fine? (like a few GBs)
could you use some sort of menu to allow you to compute free space only when you want too and then just use that?
because i would love to have my 3ds know how much free space it has, but to be honest, i dont change my files that often so i dont...

It should be possible in the form of: (trigger space calculation) -> reboot your 3ds -> calculate space and use that value as free space -> cache that free space so next boot still uses it
