I think it is related to hacking, since if there was the possibility to auto update the Wii it could interfere with/rule out the hacking methods used right now. Hi, I've got specific questions regarding the Wii shop channel. If I want access to it I need to (partially) update my wii (Firmware 3.2). Hacking Help with Wii Shop Channel & Wii Speak
I'm not sure, but wouldn't you have to install cios 60 too? Because from what I've heard so far, Wii shop channel won't work without cIOS 60. I thought it would ask for the update, if cIOS 60 wasn't found, but maybe that is what causes the freezes.- Clowny
