    I think you can buy replacements, if all else fails. If you try some lubricant, make sure it's silicone lubricant because WD-40 and any other lubricant will eat away at the plastic.

    Gaming DS lite or DSi?

    Look for a comparison chart? The DSL has, by far, the best battery life performance. It also weighs a bit less. And has native hardware support for GBA games. Emulation is the only option with other models, and it's not as good. I have a spare for sale.
