Yeah, those are both valid points on SP1/SP2, I don't know for certain they're for external wires, just speculating there. I originally thought they might be for grounding to the heatpipe for a shorter ground path / less emi / etc, since hardware exploits like this can be picky, but with another...
Close. The chip has two labels, SP1 and SP2, and everyone else is jumping into them meaning only 2 points. You can see plenty of exposed pads on the flex cables that will have to be bridged to components, the entire other flex cable would be pointless if you weren't soldering to those pads. I...
I'm easily seeing 8+ solder points, I don't know where everyone keeps getting 2 wires. Solder bridges to the resistors on the SoC on the flex that lays across it, and another 7 solder bridges to misc components from the other flex cable, including clk.
I'm not sure I come to the same conclusion as that breakdown video on SP1 and SP2. The exposed pads around the holes for 2 resistors look to me like you're going to need to bridge that directly to the resistors on the SoC, not the giant pads below that he's indicating. Those look like possibly...
Restoring the older bootloaders isn't anything new though, there wasn't any downgrade check so you just ran the update for the icon you wanted. It's been that way since before they stopped releasing bootloader updates.
Creating your own custom icon is quite a bit more challenging, though...
I haven't looked at the latest source for decrypt9, but last I saw the ak2i code wasn't really end-user ready. From what I saw, the restore feature hard coded a chunk of the Pippa Funnel bootloader. That's probably great for restoring carts while developing ntrcardhax, but less useful if you...
That's a lot of extra work, honestly. An easier solution would be to forget about using the gateway, boot the EU system into sysnand, follow 3ds.guide completely and install b9s and Luma. Near the end of the guide, there is a box that says if you had an emunand before and want to move it to...
I've had this happen a few times too, though I doubt I have anything helpful at add atm. I'm still on b9s 1.0 and Luma 7.1, I don't update frequently and 8.0 was going through pretty rapid improvements. Zero lockups like that in the year or so of a9lh, and I think 3-4 since moving to b9s. I...
Glad to help! Since your FBI and Luma were older, you should look into updating any other apps you use. The old freeshop isn't being developed anymore, but if its something you use, you should replace it with this fork that's actively developed, there are some nice improvements.
You can get rid of FBI first if you want, or do it later, it doesn't matter either way. I'd just put it off and do it once you're up to date.
6.6 is getting fairly old, it's from November last year. You have a9lh right now, so you're going to need to follow this guide to update to b9s and Luma...
If you're compiling a custom Luma, are you just removing Rosalina like the legacy builds or do you get rid of the select at boot for config too? First book should still pop the config up and that's one less option they could mess with, if you're going that far.
The only problem I see with...
It looks like you're probably using Luma as a CFW, and you'll either have a9lh or b9s, both of which mean you can update the 3DS firmware with no fish of losing CFW. Power your system off, and hold select then power it back on. That should give you a Luma config menu with a version number at...
If you have b9s and luma 8.1, you've got a permanent cfw already and there's virtually no reason to make an emunand. You can update sysnand just fine, and anything that would work in an emunand will work on your sysnand.
I'd consider leaving FBI, replacing godmode9 with hourglass9, and doing some simple education. Hourglass9 is pretty newb-friendly, and would still let them dump their carts to CIA and install with FBI. Then just show him how to install+delete a CIA, and tell him to never use FBI to delete things...
Do you know if FBI is installed as a regular CIA or injected over Health and Safety? Do you know what CFW you're using? Is this an old emunand setup, a9lh, or was it updated to b9s? If you've got instructions from the seller, post what you've got, it'll help narrow down where you need to go from...
although i ended up accidentally changing my nand with no way of going back bc i didn't know you needed a gamecube controller to restore it (i have a wii minus/1.1, which doesn't have gamecube controller support)
and if i find the sd card i have my NAND backed up on, i can not only restore the NAND if i solder the right part in, but i can also put my NAND on dolphin, then i can play dolphin online, like PMEX Remix or MKWii Riibalanced
