    I am using a public header from the provided template.txt file, but I never use the online services, such as Pokemon GTS, etc. I just meant if it's safe to download the software updates. :)

    Is it considered safe to install the game updates from Online when you launch a game from a Sky3DS cart and it says "There is an update for this software" under the games icon on the top screen? Can I do it or do I risk a ban?

    Yeah I have switched my WiFi off now and will leave it off unless I am out and about (outside of my Wireless range) and using StreetPass

    By WiFi on, I mean the wireless switch is on so that I can StreetPass, etc. And I mean when it's in my pocket, not when I'm playing, when I'm playing the button pressing is not an issue. I'll keep my Wireless switch off unless I'm out of the house :)
