    Do you have updated cios? I got a problem like this on Wad Manager, when I select to use Cios 249 on Wad Manager the wiimote stopped working. I could only resolve this by using PimpmyWii and update missing cios.

    You can use it without problem so the USB Power plug will only use the energy from the port and will not make any data transfer.

    It seems that your first Wiimote is broken on the Nunchuck port, so when you connect the wiimote can't comunicate correctly with the console. I never saw this happen but the thing i can recommend to you is don't use nunchuck on this controller anymore :)

    It seems that on Priiloader you can't use the Wiimote. I'm not sure but I know that in Bootmii menu you can't use the remote until enter Homebrew or System Menu. In Homebrew Channel you can use the Wii Mote?

    As you said you don't mind expending a bit of money, it seems that the HDMI adapter is the best choice in your case. But keep in mind that even you using a HDMI cable the game will run on 480p.
