    ok... that might be the case for the DVD... now why would the SD card not be read as having the WBFS format.. even though my computer/programs recognizes it as a WBFS format ie WBFS Manager and Wii Game Manager.

    YES! well aware of that BUT... I did state that my drive is either a GC2 or GC2-D2 drive chip and i checked that it is compatible with the chip... so i still dont know why my dvd is being disabled nor why the sd card is being read incorrectly
