Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

The pico was operating as expected. 3.3v power was still good. The last I saw it doing was injecting with the white LED and then nothing would happen because the APU wasn't able to boot (I'd get a 'unable to glitch' error code, I think *** or ---. A short across the OLED connector sounds viable...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Ahh, take my comment with a pinch of salt (my salt at my own failure). Many people here have had very positive experiences with the picofly and I really do think it's a good solution. However, it seems that it's beyond my skill level, and my story is a warning to not take the installation of...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Towel thrown in. Replaced the display connector on my OLED. Turns out the power IC had blown for whatever unknown reason. Took it to a repair shop that could replace it for $30 (I'm in one of them cheap countries), picofly still doesn't work. Replaced picofly with an hwfly, boots to hekate...

I can actually make that work with the other one I have. I'll give it a go next week once the display is repaired. And I have the 2x resistors on the two suggested lines. No difference.

That's the maximum insertion without really forcing it. I actually think in that install the contact point wasn't going around the BGA because of the Ω shape... these adaptors are so many levels of trash.

No worries! You've helped me a lot! The diode shows ~702 (Black on GND).

Solid info. The weird thing about this adaptor is the guide line is offset. The cutout shape (that goes around all the BGA pins) forces the lines on the left to go under the EMMC, as you can see here. Cutting where you showed would let me push it even more to the right. I'll be honest; I don't...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

What emmc do you have on your switches? I have a samsung on mine, so if yours is also samsung with 600 it would I do indeed have an issue with the dat0. I honestly wouldn't be surprised since I had to use a OATO dat0 adaptor. Ordered 2 from two different suppliers who said it was the good...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

I'm using a flex and the error I'm getting is === according to the error codes it's 'cannot glitch.' Unfortunately I don't know which file to begin looking into for the source. I gave up coding years ago :D I'm guessing it's this code: while(!time_reached(tio_full)) { if...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Thanks! So given the state of the pico, like you said it writes the packet with the white flash and the packet should be executed by the CPU when it is undervolted. But in my switch, the signal to undervolt is being sent to the mosfets, but for some reason the undervolt isn't happening. If I'm...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Thanks for the info. I'm having a problem with === error on my pico. It stays in blue flash state for 45 seconds, flashes white, then goes back to blue flash for about a minute ending with ===. CMD/CLK are for sure fine. I just tried resoldering RST and added SDA SCL connections but still the...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

I was wondering is there any documentation on how the picofly actually glitches the console and loads hekate? I've tried searching but can't dig up a single source. As far as I know, the basic glitch is that the pico interrupts the tegra's secure boot using MOSFET wizardry and then takes...

I have no idea how he did that. I guess that's the power of a microscope. I'm using x8 mag glasses and I have a similar pick but I can't even see the pin to move it. Getting light inside the port in the first place is almost impossible. I had to take the pictures I did by aligning the camera...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Thanks for all this info. Yep! As is mostly true, fault lies between switch and chair :D It's just a case of trying to work out what I did badly. I'm still not 100% happy with the CPU flex nor the DAT0 adaptor, so these are the most likely. At this point I'm about ready to give up on the picofly...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Labor is much cheaper here, I'd expect somewhere in the region of $10-$20. Reballing the EMMC. Oh man. That's something I really want to avoid. Ah! I've seen that video. Thanks for reminding me, I can totally try that out and see if I get any luck. The last thing I want is to rip any of the...
