    That doesn't make even the slightest bit of sense. Since when is there no point in supporting your existing user base? If Gateway had something they would be foolish to hold onto it due to hardware constraints.

    It's definitely normal. I'm using a retail MM3D cart in a retail N3DS, no mods, 9.0 FW... it does the same thing. As to why? It was a style decision by the game devs once upon a time. To me, it builds anxiety. It's like a reminder than time is getting away.

    Since it's not much of a loss of money, then why not? You got the cash. You have a solid case for using the new while modding the old. You're leaving the door open for staying safe from a ban. It seems like a no-brainer to me. Do it.
