I have made a new tool, which you may or may not find useful.

With this Tool you can insert any Wii DVD Game and extract all the Update files from the Game. I.e System WAD files, IOS files and extracts them to an SD card inserted in the 'Front SD Slot'

you don't need to rip a dvd or use any keys.

some info and a screen shot here:

Sounds like a nice tool, will give it a try

Nuke is the guy who does ALL the work on USBGecko... And if he would be so kind to share some of the source code for the GeckoOS app, I would have his/her children!

Well, heres Mr.Nuke himself. For other peoples information, hes the creator of GeckoOs. If only we could have your source code. O_O mwahahaha. lol.

edit, i seem to be a little late on this post, so completely disregard it. =]

Because this is the easiest way to do it now. No need for a modchip, or modifying discs.

Just pop in an update disc, run a HBC app, and there ya go! Update WADs...

thanks a lot, very useful indeed
I second that sourcecode could also be very helpful for those wanting to learn more about libogc IOS-related functions
