http://wiibrew.org/index.php?title=Segher%27s_Wii.git has a set of tools designed by Segher
* tachtig -- decode and unpack a saved data wad (data.bin)
* twintig -- pack and encode a saved data wad

There is no problem with compiling both tools for Windows.
However both of them require a set of certificates to work.
Tachtig uses the same certificates as Trucha Signer – everyone knows how to get them
Twintig uses another set and I have no clue how to produce them.
I’m not sure, the second set might be unique for each game. And I’m pretty sure, they are somewhere on a game disk. I have also read, each save game is signed with personal Wii certificate too.
Anyway, could anybody shed some light on where/how to get missing certificates please?
Those tools/certificates were used to create Zelda TP hacked save games…
Thank you,
Newbie

what does BUSHING think about this ??

Bushing thinks nothing bad about these tools. They've been around for a long time and were linked to in the #wiidev topic for quite a while.

Right. We need any Wii private/public keys pair to create a save file.
He won't tell how us to get the pair, because, he thinks, it'll be "misused" in other applications right away!

How coul you compile the Tool´s because under cygwin i get an error direct at the start

structure have not element of >>d_type

This is great guys! There are actual free offers that you can complete to earn stuff. Each point it equal to one dollar so signing up and completing offers is really worthwhile. PM me if you have any other questions!

Could anyone in the know give a headsup on how to compile these? I've tried cygwin and get the same error as nIxx; complaining about "d_type"

I know they're not very useful for savegame hacking at the moment as theres no way for average joe to repack them without private keys but i'd still be interested to unpack one.

Wow, quick reply! Thanks. I've Just tried this combined with miniGW and its much leaner than cygwin but alas, has the same error:

twintig.c:181: error: structure has no member named `d_type'

Have I missed something obvious here?

Now that Savegame-Extractor_v1 and Savegame-Installer_v1 are out we can use these tools to extract, edit and then reinsert modified saves, right?
