It's 2025, and I don't understand where my dental hygiene goes wrong. Three months ago I pushed myself to wear braces as i am afraid that i may get gum receding if my crowded teeth weren't fixed. Three months later, my dental hygienist alerted me that my dental hygiene wasn't great. I have an early/mild gum recession.
The news really shocked me to the point i felt like getting a heart attack. I put the braces to prevent this situation. I do whatever it takes to clean my teeth, yet it seems an uphill battle. I grind every day to clean my teeth to prevent calculus build up, yet it's still happening.
To console myself, I keep watching the worst scenario of what could possibly be if I really need to do gum grafting. It looks... Not too bad. But no way i am doing this while i am getting braces. Fortunately the bones of my teeth are still strong and it's just a matter of sensitivity. It's not a life shattering situation, but I feel being punished.
