Broken SysMods after FW 15.0.0 Update

Nope, I saw no point of upgrading yet since some things need to be updated

Hmmm, everything i use all works, only had the issue with edizon, but that's fixed, everything works as intended on fw15

Well, most been fixed. Just Zing then for me that needs to be updated or just manually open Breeze then.

being the last time that was updated "sep 2021" It might be a while before it's updated i'd assume. lol

I just installed this "Breeze-Overlay.ovl" aka Zing? why's it not nammed the same thing... confusing... anyways, tried it, opend it in game, hit "zl +" and it crashed my switch XD

Breeze overlay is working for me w/ latest release on 15.0.0. Using a dumb game to test…let me try a different game.

also not listed on my screenshot, but my ftp sysmod works too, it's "sys-ftpd-10k" but i don't remember where i got it :U

oh it worked for me, but the second i pushed the key combo it crashed my switch, tho I was in the switch online n64? maybe that's why, let me test again....

I crashed it w/ Oddworld. So yeah…not consistent. Leaving it in the needs help category.

Yeah tested it in breath of the wild, worked fine, tested in n64 again, no crash this time, where it crashed me twice before.... weird... it seems to like to crash randomly. hmmm

Yeah the one you get on the HB app store crashes, but if you grab https://github.com/proferabg/EdiZon-Overlay/releases this one, it wont crash anymore.

also i did take a pic of the crash screen when it crashed me using the zing/breezyovl, things I changed after was updated sysDVR, and removed dino run and the dvd logo apps... maybe there was a conflict elsewhere? i don't know how to read that crash screen, i know it was tesla that crashed my switch tho, so i unno, but it seems the breezy ovl is not crashing me anymore, but someone else was able to get it to crash in oddworld... so it's maybe...iffy? i unno.

I think I have sys-ftpd-light installed from the deepsea package. Took me a while to figure out it's sysftpd causing the black screen after switch logo. Same problem as yours.

Fizeau in hbmenu still crashes but at least tesla menu works, you can change all settings there.

Confirmed! Fizeau inside Tesla overlay works with the hacky build.

e: Fiseau softens the blow of not owning an OLED.

Mission Control broke two different Switch consoles, both pre-patch. Neither will even boot Atmosphere with the latest Mission Control installed.

Rekado for Android won't work on either device, either. Which very much sucks because I don't want to be tied to my laptop in case my Switch crashes.

I’m not having any issues w/ Mission control.

Using my PS4 DualShock controller as we speak and everything works great…
(I’m on a V1 as well.)


Very curious how these issues manifest themselves…

Can confirm mission control works, on my oled switch. Are you sure you are using the 0.8.0 pre release? If you download directly from its github page (not releases page), you'll get 0.7.1 which doesn't support 15.0.0.

I vaguely recall this being a fork of sys-ftpd-light. I was looking to see if anyone else has patched sys-ftpd-light. Down the rabbit hole…

I’m checking source code for things other devs have tweaked to make their apps work (Ninty removed wlaninf for example) but haven’t found anything good yet.

The good news is there are updates or workarounds for everything else reported thus far (links updated in OP.)

I am surprised that sys-ftpd-light got the blame. It's like the thin guy got kick out of the lift and got the blame for making the lift's refusal to move. By the way it works just fine for me, never ever give any problem for me except that time where it was updated to make the need to have config file set for anonymous to work.

My other two cents, don't mix sigpatches unless you know what you are doing. Remove the old one then put in the new one may help to remove one possible cause of problem. New install means remove the old, put in the new, not put in the new and let the old stay if there isn't any new file to overwrite it.

Oh my. I didn‘t mean to come off like all blame throwy at all. It’s never given me any issues either until I upgraded to 15.0.0. It’s honestly one of my favorite tools since it keeps wear and tear off my SDCard!

Unfortunately it’s the only sysmodule I‘ve seen folks still have to remove in order to get past the Nintendo Logo. I’ve stripped my switch down to nothing but Atmosphere 15.0.0, Hekate 5.9.0, and Sigpatches and the only way to get it to boot is to disable sys-ftpd-light. It works great if I roll back to 14.1.2.

I started with a clean SDCard but did copy some things over en mass. I will do it again and be sure to keep my patches limited to just the latest zip.

@TomSwitch someone mentioned people with chips having the issue. Might be a red herring but are you using either a Modchip or a Trinket?
