Ok so technically they're still both working.

My issue is tinfoil has discovered my retroarch ROMs. They're in my lakka/ROMs folder as I run both retroarch and lakka (lakka wont see other folders it assumes the lakka folder is the root of the SD card).

Anyway the ROMs now appear in my left hand navigation panel. Is there a way to turn off this "feature"??

It's a bit weird as it hasn't found all my ROMs. I'm unsure as to if it's discovered the actual ROMs in the lakka folder. Or if it's discovered the playlists in the retroarch folder?

What folders does tinfoil actually scan? Can I stop it or hide the folder? Or is there a way to get lakka to see the root of the SD card? (Then I could move the ROMs into a folder tinfoil doesn't scan).

Under the Tinfoil File Browser you can turn off each of the “sources” that fetch files to feed Timfoil.

sdmc:/ may be the one finding your ROMs.

also, did you add Titz Pro? I believe they have roms in their service as well so it may not be your ro,s that you’re actually seeing, but theirs instead.

That makes a lot of sense. I think they are their roms as some seemed to be missing. I tried disabling both but they still come up. When I run over it says copying so it's definitely not my room (always ran it from retroarch in the past). I've added a few links so it may be hosted elsewhere. Can I just ask what's purgatory? I'm familiar with the other links.
