My 2ds xl crashes either randomly or crashes in like 2 seconds aftr i turn it on is there anyway i can fix this?
Does it display an ARM11 error when it crashes? If not, make sure "Arm11 error notifications" is not disabled in the Luma3DS menu.
Does it happen in the home menu, in-game etc. ?
You should probably test your sd card with h2testw, your sd card could be faulty and it's giving you these errors. Obviously backup your data before testing it.
Format the sd card as Fat32 before and after the test.

no, it just says an error occurred and tells me to turn it off and on again and even if I take out my SD card it still crashes

It might be a hardware error then.

Have you tried booting it on whole holding select and start? If luma/gm9 don't show up, and you made sure luma has the boot.firm and boot.3dsx files, then you might have an essentially soft bricked 2ds. Soft bricked means it's still savable. When booting up the 2ds, have you tried holding L + R + A + Up? After that, press update. If it worked, it should help.

Can you tell us what you were doing before the 2ds started randomly crashing? Were you just using it normally? Were you messing around with files that might are too important?

Try booting it on without the sd card. If it boots up and doesn't crash, the last resort might be to format the sd card. I'm not too keen with troubleshooting micro sd card file issues, so don't default to formatting yet!

Sounds like the system is corrupted. Then you should do a nand restore if you have a nand backup. Or ctrtransfer if you don't.
I'd still recommend testing the sd card if you haven't, before doing either options.

just using it normally and it has nothing to do with the sd card as it wont turn on with it in or out

Then it's most likely a hardware issue. I suggest taking your stylus, micro sd card, and game cartridge out and go get it repaired unless you want to dabble in taking apart your 3ds. Have you tried opening recovery mode using the method I mentioned?
