Hi everyone. I just bought a used wii from a thrift store. Problem is when i tried to access settings it shows this error "you tried to access blah blah".

The wii model is RVL-001 (USA) it also came with a japanese game and it can play it. I think its modified.

I don't know the firmware version because i can't access settings.

No homebrew launcher installed. Just the default channels.

Hope you guys can help me out. Thanks

Is Priiloader accessible by holding (Reset) on power on? BootMii installed in boot2?
1. I tried hold reset while powering on nothing happened. Went straight to warning screen where you press A.

2. I dont know tbh because i just got this from a thrift store 😔

This looks like a case of a partial region change gone bad. Find an exploit that will work for u, like str2hax (u may need an ethernet adapter since u can't enter settings to input wifi password), bluebomb, smash stack, possibly others.

U can also check if the wii has bootmii installed as boot2 (doubtful otherwise it would have probably been easily repaired by the original owner), just copy this bootmii folder to a fat32 sd card, insert it into the wii and power it up http://static.hackmii.com/bootmii_sd_files.zip

Anyway, once u get yourself into bootmii or an exploit to launch any kind of homebrew this can easily be fixed, modmii's region change wizard will help fix your region settings, but before doing that u should run its primary wizard too. Or u can make a nand backup and construct a new nand built for this specific wii to flash using ohneschwanzenegger + bootmii

Hi guys! I managed to fixed it. I downloaded a game that has an update burned it and updated the wii using the game disc and it worked! Thanks for all the help i really appreciated it 🙏

thankfully it was an update for the correct region matching your sys settings, although I suppose at worst you would have just been in the same scenario you started from
