Hardware Will pressing down the circle pad very hard damage it?

Not talking about moving it around with great force, but simply pressing it down extremely hard. I have a friend who likes to do this saying it's decompressing. He also said it would be okay to do that since the circle pad is always stuck by the edge of the round hole that the circle pad goes through. What do you all think of that?
 
Yes, I've busted a circle pad before. (Some combination of Olli Olli and Smash Bros.) There is a plastic disc inside which can absolutely snap. Maybe pressing on the center is safer than pressing on the edges, but I wouldn't count on it.
 
Alright thank you guys for your reply. I suppose that means even though there's support from the actual body, the inside mechanism is still breakable. Is that correct?

I don't know what this is supposed to mean. The external parts are probably more likely to break before the "inside mechanism" does, probably.

I have a friend who likes to do this saying it's decompressing.
Also, may I suggest https://www.antsylabs.com/products/fidget-cube ? (There are assorted knockoffs on eBay and AliXpress and suchlike that are very cheap.)
