Hello everyone from this forum! I recently got a 2nd hand Wii which is already modded. But the thing is that I do want to update it to the latest version as the console version is 4.1E, is there any risk to brick my software or mess up everything ? Or I should leave it with this version? I don t really have a reason to update it but I always like to have the newest version. Thanks!

No reason to as all higher fw is just Nintendo attempts at blockibg/removing homebrew

Understood. I thought upgrading to the newest possible FW could result to a newer Homebrew version or something that could possibly improve things such as games as I got a crash from a game which i downloaded. Thanks !

Your syscheck generally looks fine, one thing you could do is install bootmii as IOS. Even if u have bootmii installed as boot2, it's nice to also have it installed as IOS so it can be launched by the hbc, priiloader, etc.

You could also install a base 38 (or 58) cios to slot 251, but that's only needed for 1 or 2 games (spongebob's boating bash and usb keyboard support for animal crossing, iirc), so not really an issue unless u play these games

This has probably already been answered but you don't need a FW update. The only reason you would want one is if a game needs a specific OS build to work, which can be fixed by just downloading and installing the new IOS only rather than the entire update and patching out the rest. A majority of Wii updates are just patching homebrew exploits and nothing more. You can learn about those on WiiBrew as every update is thoroughly documented.

Thanks all for replying my silly questions,
I am facing now another issue, i am trying to re mod my wii, but mailbox shows 9-2-2022 and 8-2-2022 as today and also when i click on letter bomb, a green envelop, screen turns black and when turn on again, it freezes on letter bomb message.
I tried 2 times downloading files and moving to sd card, but still same.
All games which i play, run fine from usb mass storage.
I was just trying to re mod, but i think i should just update the missing things through SU option

Letterbomb only works on the latest firmware. Use a different exploit.
You can find a list of them at Wiibrew: https://wiibrew.org/wiki/Category:Homebrew_exploits

EDIT: I'm sorry, I just noticed you are on 4.3E. Letterbomb is supposed to work on that version. 🤔

are you referring to Modmii's syscheck updater wizard?

Are you currently running modmii's main wizard? If so, as stated in your guude you can launch the hackmii installer from the hbc instead of requiring an exploit. The end result will be the same as modmii's SU wizard, so either way.

In the beginning, I have tried modmi from hbc but drive light start blinking and screen goes black, after that, i tried to re mod, that also not worked, and now, gx loader running fine from games drive and games too, but hbc dont show any entry, just blank. Mod mi and other yamm, apps, are in sd card in front.
I think, i have to remove files from. Games drive attached in rear port, than maybe front sd card will be active again

Ok, then you're system IS modded, and you have the Homebrew Channel, then why are you trying to "re mod" the system again ? You wouldn't gain anything..
gx loader running fine from games drive and games too
Same as above.
but hbc dont show any entry, just blank.
That could be your sd card acting up, unless if you have the Homebrew Channel wad channel installed on the Wii.. i would suggest testing it with h2testw, but before doing that just try formatting as Fat32 cluster size for now, and copy pasting the homebrew apps in the "Apps" folder in order for them to show up for you in the Homebrew Channel. Also don't forget to unlock the sd card adapter before plug in it.
Mod mi and other yamm, apps, are in sd card in front
Same as above.

Last edited by CoolMe,
Are you saying when you load the hackmii installer from the hbc you get a blackscreen? If so, try Modmii's hackmii solutions wizard
hackmii solution worked, modmii shown and installed it, installed 2 missing ios too and installed bootmi as ios too.
thanks all for your support and patience to responsd my silly broken question.
thanks once again
